Special weather statement in effect for:

A low pressure system is expected to develop along the U.S. seaboard and approach the Maritimes late in the day Sunday. Rain, at times heavy, is forecast to begin Sunday evening across the province with rainfall amounts possibly exceeding 40 millimetres over parts of Mainland Nova Scotia by Monday morning.

A slight variation in the system's track or intensity could result in higher rainfall amounts which may require warnings to be issued.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
